MENTAL ILLNESS

Living With a Mental Illness?

Mental illnesses (or mental health disorders) are conditions that affect a person’s thinking, behavior, or mood. These conditions can impact day-to-day living and may affect the ability to relate to others. Some mental health conditions are temporary, while others are chronic.

There are several types of mental illness, including:

  • ADHD
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Borderline Personality Disorder
  • Depression
  • Eating disorders
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • PTSD
  • Schizophrenia
  • Substance Use Disorder

If you have – or think you have – a mental illness, know that you are not alone.

Mental illness can affect anyone, and it’s common. According to the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), it’s estimated that one in five of all adults will experience a mental health issue each year.
