These activities are open to MCCMH direct-operated program providers & contract agency providers (unless noted otherwise).

Trainings followed by ** indicate that the hours qualify as Children's Training Hours. If applicable, CE hours will be indicated.

Child & Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS)**

This training is for direct-operated & contract agency providers who rate the CAFAS. Initial: face-to-face training is required before any CAFAS assessments are completed.

Refresher: reliability training is required every 2 years.
A copy of your most recent CAFAS certificate of completion will be needed f
2017 CAFAS Initial Training DatesWhen the most current class is filled, registrations for the next available class will begin.

Individuals that are new to the CAFAS, failed to complete a booster within 2 years, or that fail the initial or booster training.
2017 CAFAS BoosterThis training is for individuals that are in compliance with the stated mandate of completing booster training every 2 years.

Preschool Early Childhood Functional Assessment Scale (PECFAS)

2017 PECFAS Booster FlyerMDHHS mandates raters complete a booster training every 2 years.

This training is for individuals that are in compliance with the MDHHS mandate time frame of every 2 years.
2017 PECFAS Initial TrainingWhen the most current class is filled, registration for the next available class will begin.

Individuals that are new to the PECFAS,failed to complete the booster within 2 years, or failed the initial or booster.
This training is for direct-operated & contract agency providers who rate the PECFAS.Initial: face-to-face training is required before any PECFAS assessments are completed.

CPR & First Aid

2017 First Aid and CPR Training CalendarFirst Aid and CPR are only offered together and must be completed on the same day.

Certification is good for 2 years. Training must be through either American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention

Required for ALL direct-operated program staff & contract agency staff that have regular face to face contact with individuals served.  
2017 Initial Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training Initial face-to-face training required within 90 days of hire for ALL staff-including clerical and administrative support.
2017 Refresher Training For Nonviolent Crisis Int.Refresher training required 2 years from initial training date and every 2 years thereafter.

Office of Recipient Rights Training

2017 ORR New Hire Training Schedule July-Dec 2017Initial: face-to-face training must be completed within 30 days of hire.

New Hire training can substitute for a refresher.
2017 ORR Refresher Training Schedule July-Dec 2017Refresher:This face-to-face training must be completed every 2 years.

Refresher training cannot be taken unless an individual has attended the New Hire ORR training and are within the required 2 year certification date.

DSP Training - training for direct support professionals in residential settings (formerly DCW's)

2017 Direct Support Professionals (formerly DCW's) TrainingChanges to be noted. This training is now 2 weeks in duration and will include Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training. This training will not include the required face to face New Hire Recipient Rights or FA/CPR training.
PARKING INFODue to construction and parking lot accessibility, trainees may park in the back lot, but must enter the lot off of Beattie Street. Trainees need to walk around the building to the East entrance.

Annual Medication Updates Training for Direct Support Professionals in Residential Programs

If prior med training has been longer than 12 months, the Medication module of DSP Training must be re-taken.

Skills Training for CLS and Respite Staff

2017 Skills for CLS and Respite Staff FlyerThis training is required for all CLS and Respite Staff that provide services to an individual served under the SED or Childrens Waiver Programs.

This training will not cover the process of medication administration.
Course ContentParticipants will learn basic vital signs, symptoms of health related issues, basic first aid for seizures,swallowing/aspiration precautions, basic medication information, behavior modification, and how to document services provided according to the PCP.

MCCMH Training Department Notice - Sunday, January 01, 2017

The MCCMH Training Department holds the expectation that all individuals attending scheduled training's will be present and signed in for the training prior to the scheduled start time. Any individuals that arrive late can be turned away and forfeit their reserved spot to an individual that is present and waiting to attend the scheduled training. 

 
Metro Region Reciprocity Agreement for Direct Service Professionals (Formerly DCW) - Sunday, January 01, 2017

The Metro Region Reciprocity Agreement applies to the Direct Care Worker training that complies with the State of Michigan curricula. Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne County PIHPs have reached an agreement of reciprocity for Direct Support Professionals that is in alignment with the curriculum entitled Providing Residential Services In Community Settings: A Training Guide. Please review the attached reciprocity agreement for further details.

Relias Learning System - Sunday, January 01, 2017

Relias Learning System is an E-Learning system that educational PROVIDES opportunities to the various staff within the Macomb County CMH system. Relias houses various required training's as well as optional training's that staff can utilize to enhance their knowledge and earn professional educational credits.

The Relias Learning System users are not able to register for face to face training's through the system, therefore staff should contact the training department to register for the desired training. Relias Learning system will allow staff to upload certificates from external training's as well as track and monitor the status of various required training's.

Relias Learning has the capability of adding external training. Copies of certificates, or other documentation, no longer needs to be sent to the Training Dept. To document participation in an external training:

For training's that qualify for Children's Training Hours, be sure to include -ch following the training title. 

 
Michigan Association of Community Mental Health Board (MACMHB) - Friday, January 20, 2017

The MACMHB offers continuing education opportunities throughout the year. Trainings include topics such as Schizophrenia, Assertive Community Treatment, Coping with Trauma and various other clinical trainings. Children's Training Hours criteria - Sunday, January 01, 2017

Training must be related (directly or indirectly) to the assessment, diagnosis, and/or treatment of Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) children or adolescents

OR

Training must be related (directly or indirectly) to services available to families with an SED child.
